Lessons from an island with limited water resources

While Malta is a wonderful island to visit for a tourist, it makes a water specialist think differently: there is little fresh water, groundwater is slowly being replenished, and at the same time, all life – residents, agriculture and tourism – relies on a reliable water supply. Malta and Gozo offer an outstanding example of how a country with very limited fresh water resources has managed to build a functioning and innovative water management system.

At Järvamaa College, an international training took place on April 9–10 as part of the Erasmus+ programme, where trainers from Italy shared their knowledge and experience. The two-day training, “Emotional Skills in Everyday Work,” focused on supporting teachers’ professional development and providing practical tools to enrich daily teaching practices.

Although the word “synergy” has become a buzzword (often used out of context), in the case of the collaboration between ENAC Lombardia CFP Canossa Milan (Italy) and the Järvamaa Vocational College (Estonia), the concept truly regains its full meaning. Here it fits perfectly, as this has not been merely a simple student mobility experience, but a genuine intertwining of knowledge and skills.

Global Erasmus+ Learning Mobility: Culinary Student in England

In November, a culinary student from our school, Ruudi Õunpuu, took part in the global Erasmus+ learning mobility program and completed a professional internship in the restaurant kitchen of The Suffolk Sur Mer LTD in England. It was a valuable experience that enhanced both his professional skills and his confidence in using a foreign language.

From Raindrops to Taps: Teaching Kids Where Water Comes From

Within the PoVE Water project, we place strong emphasis on raising awareness of the water sector and inspiring the next generation to take an interest. We bring new young people into the water sector by improving awareness during our visits to the kindergartens and schools to highlight why water matters and to show, step by step, how clean drinking water reaches our homes.

IncluVET LTTA: expanded perspective on inclusive practices

As part of the Erasmus+ Incluvet project, a three-day teacher training focused on cultivating an inclusive mindset and providing practical tools for engaging unmotivated VET students.

The training introduced innovative, student-centered approaches, moving away from traditional lecturing towards an innovative student-active learning approach in all subjects.
